Florence Muindi, MD, MPH

Dr. Florence Muindi is the founder and president of Life In Abundance (LIA) International (lifeinabundance.org), a faith-based nonprofit headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya. LIA works in twelve countries in Africa and two in the Caribbean, with support offices in the US, UK, and Europe. LIA also operates Blue Wings Limited (an aviation company serving East Africa) and the LIA Global Institute, a catalyst program to empower churches and Christian organizations to fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20), the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:36-40), and the Great Concern (Matthew 25:31-45).

LIA is committed to serving the poor and the vulnerable through partnerships with local indigenous churches, as well as championing the cause of transformational development globally.

Since the beginning of her ministry, Dr. Muindi has pioneered the development of a proven missions model, and has played an integral role in establishing LIA as a leader in implementing wholistic missions throughout Africa and the majority world.

Dr. Muindi is a medical doctor who specialized in public health through the University of Nairobi. She has also received training in Switzerland and Belgium in public health interventions and holds a diploma in urban-poor theology. She and her family have served in cross-cultural missions since 1996, initially working among the Maasai in Kenya and with people affected by leprosy in Ethiopia, before expanding the work internationally through Life In Abundance. Her efforts were recognized and awarded with an honorary doctorate of humane letters, conferred by Daystar University, where she currently serves as chancellor.

Dr. Muindi is an ordained minister and an author. She regularly speaks at international forums and serves on several international ministry boards. She and her husband, Dr. Festus Muindi, have three children and one grandchild. They live in Kenya and travel globally for ministry.
