Matt Forté

Matt Fort was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the second round of the 2008 NFL draft. His rookie season ranks among the most prolific in franchise history, and he was one of the league's best dual-threat backs during his eight seasons with the Bears. During his ten years in the league, the two-time Pro Bowler amassed 14,468 total yards and scored 75 touchdowns. In 2014, Matt set a single-season NFL record for running backs, with 102 receptions.

On April 23, 2018, Matt signed a one-day contract and officially retired as a Chicago Bear. He remains one of five running backs in NFL history to record 100 or more receptions in a single season and one of four to amass 100 or more receptions and 1,000+ rushing yards in a single season. In August 2023, he was inducted into the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame, recognized for his athletic contributions as a Louisiana native and graduate of Tulane University.

After his retirement, Matt developed an athleisure clothing brand called Workhorse 22 Apparel. He also hosts the Sports Spectrum podcast, works with his wife, Danielle, as a codirector of marriage ministry for Pro Athletes Outreach, and continues to develop his What's Your Fort Foundation. The foundation, started in 2013, guides youths (especially in disinvested areas) toward becoming their best selves, providing specific resources and access to career paths that accentuate their talents and potential so they can realize their purpose in life. Young people are inspired to pursue a calling, instead of just a job, which in turn helps fight against society's main plagues of violence, fatherlessness, and poverty.
