This volume of the Editio Critica Maior is a special edition, presenting 41 parallel pericopes, 38 of which are from the Synoptic Gospels. A majority of the pericopes selected are extant in three different forms. In three cases, parallel passages from the Gospel of John and the First Letter to the Corinthians were added.

The critical apparatus includes all the variants found in the 154 manuscripts that preserve text from at least two Synoptic Gospels.
